Why JRCDA was formed Rapid expansion and growth, though welcomed, created some problems in the Jahnke Road area. And, as a way to help define and resolve such problems, the Jahnke Road Community Development Association was formed. In September of 1994, after a senseless murder in the Parkway Plaza, several area residents and merchants met in order to see what needed to be done to prevent similar incidents from occurring. Because of the "openness" of the area, only a "community" effort could effectively address the issues and potential problems. From that date till now, this volunteer, non-profit, diverse and committed organization has set and obtained goals, which benefit all within any of our great "Communities of Jahnke Road" In the words of the popular song, "…the best is yet to come!" |
