These safety tips are provided to help create a safer community -

Do your part in making Richmond and Jahnke Road Safe!

  1. Don't give out financial information on the phone unless you initiated the call and know the party you are dealing with
  2. Report lost or stolen checks immediately - review new deliveries of checks to insure none are stolen or missing
  3. Store cancelled checks and new checks in a safe place
  4. Notify local authorities of suspicious inquiries asking for account information to "verify a statement" or award a prize"
  5. Guard your ATM Pin and ATM receipts
  6. Tear up and destroy financial solicitations that arrive by mail - destroy old statements as well
  7. Don't put outgoing financial mail in your mailbox - beware of thieves
  8. If regular bills fail to reach you, call the company - endure that a false change-of-address has not occurred
  9. If your bills include suspicious items, don't ignore them - investigate
  10. Periodically contact major credit reporting companies to review your file for correctness

The three major credit bureaus are:

  Equifax                       800-685-1111
                          Experian                     800-682-7654

                                                     TransUnion                  800-916-8800

Together, we can head off identity theft and account fraud before they ever happen.
